Well I had kept these Cd's in case I figured out a way to use them. Well now that I have the Bind It All I do!!! I covered them first then trimmed the extra paper off, next I punched them with the bind it all and binded them. Very easy to do. I think it turned out pretty cute!

Santa came by my house!!

Every year the city I live in deck out one of their firetrucks and have Santa sitting up top and go down every street! It takes them days to do. The music you hear is from the fire truck. His little elf's sitting up there that you can't see either, lol, threw us tootsie rolls! Thought I'd share with you. Merry Christmas!

There are a few more pages but I didn't take a picture of them all for some reason. Maybe tomorrow when there is good light I'll take the pictures of the others.

Santa Bag

I got this idea from a Friend over at The Stamp Shack (thanks heather!!) I made it using a white lunch bag. I used aluminum foil that I taped down to cardstock for the belt and then cut it out with a frame die-cut. The brads are holding the bag together. I thought it turned out pretty cute!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I just wanted to say to all of you out there Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
I have been in the kitchen all day today preparing for tomorrow. I have cooked 2 pans of cornbread (for the dressing) boiled 40 eggs and peeled them, made a homemade apple pie, baked homemade cookies, diced all my green onion and celery. Wow, I'm tired already. I still have to clean up my mess and do some laundry. Anyway, hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow and get lots of good food to eat!

Frog ATC

Here is a frog atc i made for a swap I'm hosting. I used the packing tape technique. You punch a whole and put packing tape on the back with the sticky side so it will be sticky on the front. Sprinkle glitter and your done! It's so easy and adds nice sparkle.

Altered Box

Here is another altered box. This one came black so I didn't even have to paint it!!

The postcard in the middle is cut out from the pp and then mounted on black cs. I then used foam tape to make it pop up. It looks really good IRL!

Cute Kittie

Jiggs and the cat. He hates it that I"m making him get along with a cat!!

This is the little "house" we made for her to sleep in. Just a box with towels in it and a blanket drapped over the front.

Profile!!

Cute Kittie!

Jiggs and Kittie checking each other out.

This is a cat that I've been taking care of because it's owners decided that
they didn't want it any more. She is super good, and I trust me when I say this, I don't even like cats!

I decided to show the before and after picture of the Starbucks bottles that I've been altering. I really like doing these too. They make great gifts for teachers! Fill them full of candy and your done.

Altered Box

I really like doing these! They are fun, quick, and easy. I think this one took me a total of about an hour to do.

Friday, October 19, 2007

I bought this box at Hobby Lobby with my 40% off coupon. I decided that the cards to go with it were going to be plain. No reason to make them to fancy when they are getting this wonderful box! LOL!!!

Thanksgiving Place Cards

I thought it might be a good idea to make some place cards for Thanksgiving. I worked on these today. I had fun making them. I don't know what I'm going to sell them for yet. Dbf says I should do them $1 each, but that seems expensive to me. Feedback would be nice, what do you all think?

Lacy Box

This is the box that dbf hates. He says he doesn't like the paper at all. Anyway, I told him too bad it's there and it's staying! I think it suits the country style and some people like that. This is some of that lace I got at the garage sale! I knew I needed it for something.

Another box

This is more of a manly box. I used this copper tape around the bottom of it. I got 5 rolls of it in different colors for 50 cents at a yard sale. It looks alot better in real life!

Here is another box I made. I have made matching cards for all my my boxes. I got the layout for this card from Thanh. She always has wonderful card ideas!! I like this box because it is very girly and of course purple is my fav. color!! I don't think you can tell very well from the photos but I added little dots of Glossy Accents glue to make it look like they are leaving their trail behind. Since I took this picture I have painted the inside rim of the lid and the box with the same purple paint. Makes it look more finished that way.

Directions for altered boxes

1. Start with a plain box

2. Paint the box where you want.

3. You will use Mod Podge and a sponge brush.

4. Measure your paper.
5. Apply the mod podge to the box.

5. Apply paper to the top of the box. Then use a ruler, or your hand, to get out any air bubbles.

6. Add your paper to the front and back first(the side of the boxes.) Be sure when you cut it you leave enough to wrap around the sides.

7. Fold the bottom like you are gift wrapping a present; then glue down. (This is the bottom of the box.)

8. Trim the paper for the sides of the box, but don't leave the extra to wrap. This piece is going to cover the the wrapping from the front and back.

9. Once you have all your paper on this is what the bottom of you box will look like. You can add some felt to the bottom to hide this.

10. The last part is to decorate as wanted. You can use the same glue you used for the paper on your ribbon and embellishments. Just remember that where ever that glue touches it makes it kinda shiny so be careful with it.

The finished box!
