Altered Starbucks Bottle

I decided to show the before and after picture of the Starbucks bottles that I've been altering. I really like doing these too. They make great gifts for teachers! Fill them full of candy and your done.

Altered Box

I really like doing these! They are fun, quick, and easy. I think this one took me a total of about an hour to do.

I bought this box at Hobby Lobby with my 40% off coupon. I decided that the cards to go with it were going to be plain. No reason to make them to fancy when they are getting this wonderful box! LOL!!!

Cute gift bags

I've been busy again today. I have made 6 of these little bags so far. Aren't they cute!!! I got the idea from Kim who got the idea from Pascale. I of course needed to be in the loop and wanted to make some too!!

Chipboard Coaster Boxes

I've been busy the past couple days making these boxes. I've made 6 in all! Thanks to Traci for selling me some of her stash of coasters!! I'm loving these boxes. They are pretty easy to make and are really cute!!

Thanksgiving Place Cards

I thought it might be a good idea to make some place cards for Thanksgiving. I worked on these today. I had fun making them. I don't know what I'm going to sell them for yet. Dbf says I should do them $1 each, but that seems expensive to me. Feedback would be nice, what do you all think?

Lacy Box

This is the box that dbf hates. He says he doesn't like the paper at all. Anyway, I told him too bad it's there and it's staying! I think it suits the country style and some people like that. This is some of that lace I got at the garage sale! I knew I needed it for something.

Another box

This is more of a manly box. I used this copper tape around the bottom of it. I got 5 rolls of it in different colors for 50 cents at a yard sale. It looks alot better in real life!

Here is another box I made. I have made matching cards for all my my boxes. I got the layout for this card from Thanh. She always has wonderful card ideas!! I like this box because it is very girly and of course purple is my fav. color!! I don't think you can tell very well from the photos but I added little dots of Glossy Accents glue to make it look like they are leaving their trail behind. Since I took this picture I have painted the inside rim of the lid and the box with the same purple paint. Makes it look more finished that way.

Directions for altered boxes

1. Start with a plain box




2. Paint the box where you want.




3. You will use Mod Podge and a sponge brush.

4. Measure your paper.

5. Apply the mod podge to the box.

5. Apply paper to the top of the box. Then use a ruler, or your hand, to get out any air bubbles.

6. Add your paper to the front and back first(the side of the boxes.) Be sure when you cut it you leave enough to wrap around the sides.




7. Fold the bottom like you are gift wrapping a present; then glue down. (This is the bottom of the box.)

8. Trim the paper for the sides of the box, but don't leave the extra to wrap. This piece is going to cover the the wrapping from the front and back.

9. Once you have all your paper on this is what the bottom of you box will look like. You can add some felt to the bottom to hide this.

10. The last part is to decorate as wanted. You can use the same glue you used for the paper on your ribbon and embellishments. Just remember that where ever that glue touches it makes it kinda shiny so be careful with it.

Another Cigar Box

After muling this over I used a card that I received in a swap for the inspiration. The card isn't signed so I can't give that person a thank you. I got the little rhinestones at the dollar store. They already have sticky stuff on them too, so it really was a great bargain. I love using them. I painted the box first with cream colored acrylic paint. It took several coats, but it covers it nicely.

My little frog

This is a little frog that visits outside my backdoor everynight. The first picture I took of me standing in my door looking out. Sorry the pictures aren't great, I don't have a flash and it's dark outside!

Gift Card Tutorial

Step 1- Cut a piece of cardstock to 4 1/4 X 11. Score and fold at 1 1/2 and 6 1/4




Step2-Take a white No. 10 envelope, business/legal size, (4 1/8x9 1/2). You know the long ones.



Step 3- Fold it in half

Step4-Place on trimmer with open side ready to cute.

Step5-trim just the ends off, enough so it will open

Step 6- This is what it looks like after you've trimmed it.

Step 7- Take a circle punch and place trimmed envelope just about half way in and punch.

Step 8- This is what it will look like after you've punched.

Step 9- Glue the inside of the envelope together. Only glue put glue up the center!!

Step 10- Now put glue up the outside and only in the center

Step 11- Stick the glued envelope to the folded cardstock and glue the other side.

Step 12- This is what it will look like when it's all glued together, now decorate and add a little piece of Velcro to the lid to keep it closed, don' t want those gift cards falling out!
