My five words

This is for the April create dare over at Tracey Weinzapfel Studios. I used several colors of orange acrylic paint for the background. I cut the flowers out of a dictionary with a punch then painted them with acrylic paints. I then used Beacon Decoupage that comes in a spray bottle to stick them to the page. It gave the page a nice shine to it too. I used bubble wrap for the dots and printed out the words on white paper.

Flower canvas

I started with a canvas I bought at a garage sale. It had a ugly picture on it so I used gesso to cover it and to add texture to the background. I used about 6 different colors of acrylic paint to great the color of the background. I then cut pedals out of a dictionary page and painted them and added some splats to them. While the splats were still a little set I added the pedals to the canvas and then used modge podge to cover the entire thing. I used bubble wrap for the gray dots and glass beads for the center of the flower. I also used a charcoal pencil to outline the pedals.

Perserverance

This is my word for the year. Last year was a rough one with lots of death and sickness. The hardest was having to put my beloved Jiggs down to kidney failure. This is a new year and I will take it head on!!!

Butterly Silhouette

These were done for a silhouette swap. I know most silhouettes are done in black but I thought white would look better. I used distress ink with a blending tool to create the background color. The butterflies are done with clear embossing powder on white cardstock.
